Welcome to Chesilparents: the website for parents in the Chesil area of Dorset. On this website you will find helpful tips and hints on talking to your children about sex and relationships. It also contains information on local services and what sex and relationship education your child is receiving in school.
The website has been created by a group of schools in Weymouth as it was felt there was a need to provide this advice. We realise that talking about this subject often strikes fear in peoples’ hearts! So this resource will give you some guidance and provide you with contacts for further help.
By talking to your children about sex and relationships you are able to give them accurate information that will equip them for life. Research has shown that children want their parents to talk to them about this subject, but 46% of children say that their parents don’t. With your help we can change this!
